I stumbled upon Phil when i saw the video you’ve all probably seen, has a mere 57 million views (Just on Tik Tiok). As I went through his channels you really pick up on his quite unique style. It's people like Phil who really show what's possible shooting in your house and at the same time make me feel you need to get off your ass, pick up a camera and get creative.

Phil hs a really clean style, his page feels like a series of experiments, ideas that are going to push him, learn a new skill or just really mess with peoples minds working out how he did it. There are different types of creators, the ones that mimic, and then there are the originators, I count Phil and the latter. He is in the same field as creators like PaperBoyo and CurleyKid, he stamps his own mark on all his content. He’s the type of creator you stop to look at when you're scrolling, you want to see what kind of crazy idea he has come up with.
If you have read any of my previous posts you know I’m big on ad integration into feeds. I am not the biggest fan of content that looks like someone has told them what to make. It sticks out like a sore thumb, it puts people off right away. Phil does the opposite of this, which makes me happy, in some cases I had no idea they were ad’s which makes me even happier. I want to watch the content, the product becomes a prop, which is the way it should be.
His BTS footage in his stories is next level, at some points I still could not work out how he was doing what he was doing and I’m watching the BTS. Looking at what he does I might even get the tripod out and start playing around, being the mimic which I have no shame in doing. Creators like Phil for me are the way the industry is going, multi skilled a director, creative, camera operator, editor, visual effects all rolled into one. You then have the world of content creators and collaboration coming into play, I am excited to see what experiments he has coming up.
Brands have never been under as much pressure to make content, having creators like Phil making content people actually want to watch makes him an obvious partner to brands that feel like he is the right fit. Something that I am interested to see is how we start to tie in the shorter form content into the bigger campaigns. That's a topic for another day… Today is all about following Phil, and for us all getting that camera and tripod out and becoming the mimic!
